Blackberry and Apple Crumble recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb of tart baking apples.
Pinch of sugar.
1 lb of blackberries.
¾ cup of all-purpose flour.
¾ cup of butter.
2/3 cup of rolled oats.
2/3 cup of brown sugar.
Cream, to serve with.
Directions:
Wipe the apples and cut them in quarters, then remove the cores and slice each piece in two.
Place the apples in a pan, and add a sprinkling of sugar if desired to sweeten.
Add a tablespoon of water and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes or until the apples start to soften.
Add the blackberries and transfer to a shallow baking dish.
Blend the flour and butter in a food processor for a few seconds until the mixture resembles crumbs.
Stir in oats and brown sugar and scatter the mixture over the cooked apples and berries.
Bake at 400°F (205°C) oven for 30 minutes or until crisp on top.
Serve with cream.
